This is a list of notable Hindi songs from my favorite albums of the 1970s (with GEMs highlighted).  Note that the list is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.)

As with all selections on this website, choosing the best Hindi-song albums is a highly subjective exercise. However, I tried to apply some objective criteria to the selections: the album should have 5+ notable songs with 2+ GEMs or 6+ notable songs with at least 1 GEM. Beyond these minimum criteria, it was of course my personal preferences which guided the selections. I’m pretty sure you will find many of your own favorites on the list!

There are 24 albums from the 1970s that made the list. In alphabetical order, they are: Aan Milo Sajna, Aap Ki Kasam, Abhimaan, Amar Prem, Bobby, Caravan, Daag, Don, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Hum Kisise Kam Nahin, Ishq Par Zor Nahin, Jawani Diwani, Johny Mera Naam, Kabhi Kabhie, Kati Patang, Mera Naam Joker, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Pakeezah, Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, Prem Pujari, Safar, Sargam, Sharmilee and Yaadon Ki Baraat.
