Texas Rangers in Action, published by Charlton Comics, had a relatively short publication history that spanned the period from 1956 to 1970.  The series focused on the thrilling adventures of the Texas Rangers, capturing the essence of the lawmen’s daring exploits in the Old West.  Many of the stories on the comic-book series claimed to be based on real-life rangers, and although the actual stories are probably more fiction than fact, they did a good job in capturing the spirit of adventure and justice in the Wild West.

Through its publication history, Texas Rangers in Action showcased the work of several talented writers and artists.  Notable writers included Joe Gill, who crafted compelling stories that highlighted the bravery and resourcefulness of the Texas Rangers.  Artists such as Charles Nicholas, Rocke Mastroserio, and Dick Giordano contributed their visual storytelling skills to depict the action-packed scenes, rugged landscapes, and iconic characters of the Old West.  Their artistic prowess, combined with the gripping narratives, allowed readers to immerse themselves in the world of the Texas Rangers, experiencing the challenges and triumphs of these legendary lawmen.  The collaboration between these notable writers and artists made Texas Rangers in Action a memorable and engaging series within the Charlton Comics lineup of Western comic books.
