Jim Shooter was a child prodigy in the comics world who started scripting many amazing stories (even sketching layouts for the artwork!) at the tender age of 13!  It was Mort Weisinger who recognized Jim Shooter’s genius and offered him a job as a regular writer on various Superman titles, especially on stories featuring the Legion of Super-Heroes in Adventure Comics.  In one of his very first issues, Jim Shooter created the super-villain Parasite, a memorable character who has lasted for nearly six decades.  He also wrote some delightful Legion stories in Adventure Comics, taking over from another master writer Edmond Hamilton.  Jim Shooter created many unforgettable characters in those stories, including Karate Kid, Ferro Lad and Princess Projectra, as well as the group of ultra-powerful villains known as The Fatal Five.
