This is a selection of Aquaman comics extending from his debut until the present day (with GEMs highlighted).  The list includes links for the following: (a) Wiki page (from the Grand Comics Database, or GCD), (b) e-book (available upon request), and (c) More info on each comic (via optional posts by various contributors).

Please note that the list is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.)  You can also do an instant filtering of the table by entering a character string in the ‘Search’ field.

Besides Superman and Batman, Aquaman is one of the earliest super-heroes to have been introduced during the Golden Age who has remained essentially unchanged since his debut.  Other super-heroes like The Flash and Green Lantern made their debut earlier but were completely reinvented during the Silver Age (and later, the Earth-Two plot device was used to retrofit their Golden-Age incarnations).  Aquaman is one of the few super-heroes who has been published almost continuously for over eight decades since his introduction in 1941.

Aquaman made his debut in More Fun Comics #73 in the early part of the Golden Age of Comics.  He was created by Mort Weisinger, who also created Green Arrow in the same issue.  (Yes, this is the same Mort Weisinger who played such an important role as editor in creating the Superman legend during the Silver Age!)  After stints in various other titles including Adventure and Detective, Aquaman finally got his own comic-book title in 1962.  Since then, like other DC super-heroes, Aquaman has gone through many versions as comic-books progressed through the Silver Age, the Bronze Age and the Modern Age.

Major contributors to Aquaman comics over the years include writers Jack Miller, Bob Haney, Steve Skeates and Peter David; and artists Ramona Fradon, Nick Cardy and Jim Aparo.  (A piece of trivia: The amazing Superman artist Curt Swan also drew a few Aquaman stories in the late 1980s!)  Aquaman supporting characters include his associates Aqualad (later Tempest), Aquagirl, Mera and Vulko; and villains Black Manta and Ocean Master.  Aquaman is also a founding member of the Justice League of America.  The movies Justice League (2017) and Aquaman (2018) cemented Aquaman’s stature as one of the biggest stars of the DC multiverse.
