Undercover (subtitled ‘Stories in Pictures of Secret Agents in Action’) was published by three different companies during its relatively short history.  It made its debut under Famepress in 1964, being one of the earliest comics to feature thrilling tales of espionage and intrigue.  Two years later, the title was picked up by World Distributors, but the basic look and feel of the comic remained essentially the same.  Later, the series found a new home under the publisher Alex White, which mostly featured reprints from older Undercover issues, though some new stories were also printed.  Despite its limited tenure and short list of original stories, Undercover remains a compelling showcase of the espionage genre and it is a charming representation of British comics during the 1960s.
