The World’s Finest title during the Silver Age featured the two most popular DC heroes Superman and Batman together in the same story.  Many interesting plots were devised for Superman and Batman to either team up against common enemies or become adversaries against each other (often with Batman acquiring some special abilities to balance Superman’s super-powers).

The principal World’s Finest writer during the Silver Age Part 2 was the peerless Edmond Hamilton.  The collaboration of Edmond Hamilton with penciller Curt Swan and inker George Klein produced some of the finest comic stories ever published.  In the latter half of the Silver Age, some new talented writers entered the scene, most notably Jim Shooter and Cary Bates.  In the late 1960s, the team of Ross Andru and Mike Esposito took over most of the artwork.  With the exception of a few Neal Adams covers, Curt Swan did the artwork most of the World’s Finest covers during this entire period, with the able assistance of inkers George Klein, Murphy Anderson and others.
