This is a complete list of plays written by various playwrights. The list includes links for several associated items which may be available online for each story: (a) Wikipedia page, (b) e-book, and (c) audiobook.
In this section, I have combined the list of notable plays by William Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, W. Somerset Maugham, Agatha Christie and many other authors. Because I personally prefer plays with high drama and not a lot of singing, musical plays comprise only a small fraction of the list. The list covers a wide span in time, from several hundred years BC to the modern era, signifying that theatrical performances have been part of popular culture for a very long time.
Note that the list below is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.) You can also do an instant filtering of the table by entering a character string in the ‘Search’ field.
Please share any comments or suggestions on this list by filling out this form. You can use the same form to express interest in becoming a contributor to the site and also request downloadable PDF files for any of the books below.
