This is a selection of Fairy Tales written by Madame d’Aulnoy (with GEMs highlighted).  The list below includes links for several associated items which may be available online for each book: (a) Wikipedia page, (b) e-book, and (c) audiobook.  There is also a column called “More info” with links to optional posts on each book.

The French writer Madame d’Aulnoy (also known as Countess d’Aulnoy) was a contemporary of Charles Perrault and, like him, was one of the original practitioners of the art of writing fairy tales.  In fact, it was she who coined the term ‘fairy tale’, by naming her first story collection Les Contes des Fées (‘Fairy Tales’), published in 1697.  She followed it up in 1698 with another collection called Contes Nouveaux ou Les Fées à la Mode (‘New Tales, or Fairies in Fashion’).  Just like the fairy tales of Charles Perrault, Madame d’Aulnoy’s stories are also of very high quality, and I have collected 14 of them here for your reading enjoyment.

Note that the list is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.)  You can also do an instant filtering of the table by entering a character string in the ‘Search’ field.
