This is a selection of Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (with GEMs highlighted).  The list below includes links for several associated items which may be available online for each book: (a) Wikipedia page, (b) e-book, and (c) audiobook.  There is also a column called “More info” with links to optional posts on each book.

The fairy tale collection written and compiled by Hans Christian Andersen is as well known as those by the Brothers Grimm.  His stories are written in an easy-to-understand and engaging manner, and their worldwide popularity have made him a legendary figure in his native country of Denmark.  He published his first collection in 1835 and kept and kept adding more stories for nearly 40 years until his final collection published in 1872.  He wrote 156 fairy tales in total (some of them quite long), out of which I have selected my favorite 22.

Note that the list below is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.)  You can also do an instant filtering of the table by entering a character string in the ‘Search’ field.
