This is a selection of books on science, technology and mathematics (with GEMs highlighted).  The list includes links for the Wikipedia page and an e-book version (if available).  There is also a column called “More info” with links to optional posts on each book.

Note that the list is sortable by each column. (Multiple levels of sorting are possible by sorting more than one column in succession, from lowest to highest.)  You can also do an instant filtering of the table by entering a character string in the ‘Search’ field.

The books on the list include popular-science books, references and textbooks.  Of the vast number of such books to choose from, I have selected those books which made a deep impression on me during the course of my life and career.   In particular, the choice of textbooks reflects my own chosen fields of science and technology, particularly chemical engineering, electronics and semiconductor devices.  Many of these books (such as the Physics textbooks by Resnick and Halliday) are true GEMs, and they played a very important role in shaping my scientific mindset during my formative years as I embarked on my engineering career.

Please share any comments or suggestions on this list by filling out this form.  You can use the same form to express interest in becoming a contributor to the site and also request downloadable PDF files for many of the books below.
