The Rawhide Kid, published by Marvel Comics, has a publication history that spans over two decades.  The character made his debut in 1955, but went on hiatus in 1957 after just 16 issues.  Three years later, Marvel reimagined and reintroduced him (as a diminutive redhead outlaw) and he became part of their Western comic book line.  Among the writers and artists who contributed to Rawhide Kid comics were the legendary Stan Lee, who co-created the character, and Jack Kirby, one of the most influential comic book artists of all time.  Their creative collaboration helped establish the foundation of the character and set the stage for the adventures of this iconic Western hero.

Throughout the years, the Rawhide Kid has seen various creative teams take the reins.  Two key contributors to the series were writer/artist Larry Lieber and artist Dick Ayers who each left their unique imprint on the character’s mythology.  Besides these, many other comic creators have lent their talents to depict the thrilling and action-packed stories of the Rawhide Kid.  The collaboration between these talented writers and artists brought the character to life, providing readers with engaging and entertaining Western tales that have solidified the Rawhide Kid’s place in the Marvel Comics canon.
